Anyone can make a report of Child Abuse and or Neglect if he/she is suspicious that a child (0-18 yrs of age) is being neglected or abused. The report is kept confidential and the source can be anonymous if the reporter is not mandated by law to report.
Every child deserves to be safe. If you suspect child abuse or neglect, call the State Central Register at (800) 342-3720 or call 311 and ask to be connected to the hotline TDD (800) 638-5163.
Child Protective Services is responsible for investigating all allegations of child abuse and neglect received by the Department from the New York Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment.
If a child is in immediate danger, call 911.
Day Care Council of New York is the lead agency for the NYC Child Care Resource and Referral Consortium. The Consortium uses mapping information in order to better focus our child care activities and advocacy to meet the child care community’s needs and to help families who are looking for child care services.
